NFL Draft Weekend

Luke McKendry and Jackson Shevin

The NFL draft is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and experience for future NFL players. This year, the draft was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was one of the best draft scenes ever.

Draftees have been training their whole lives for this moment where it all comes together. The NFL combine is one of the places where they show their skills to the NFL draft. The combine is held in Lucas Oil Stadium which is in Indianapolis, Indiana. There were many great performances in the combine, but the best one came from Jordan Davis. Davis weighs 341 pounds and ran a 4.78 40-yard dash. This is the fastest 40-yard dash by a player over 300 pounds, which displayed his freakish athleticism even more.. Jordan Davis also posted a 10-foot-3 broad jump, which is also the record for longest jump by a participant since 2003. Davis is a very special player that could really put the league on storm soon enough.

Davis’ combined performance and freakish athleticism bumped his draft stock even higher. He was picked at 13 by the Philadelphia Eagles who were in dire need of a guy like him. 9.73 ESPN said that “At 6-foot-6 and 341 pounds, Davis changed the dynamic of the Eagles’ defense.”

Even though the Eagles got a great prospect in Jordan Davis, there were many more great draft picks and players.

For all positions, the first QB drafted was Kenny Pickett to the steelers. The first running back drafted was Breece Hall who went to the Jets. For Wr Drake London went to the Falcons. Then on defense, the first Dt was Jordan Davis to the Eagles. Then the first CB is Derek Stingley Jr. to the Texans. Then on special teams, the first punter taking was Matt Araiza to the bills and the first kicker was Cade York to the Browns.

The biggest steal of the draft would be Nakobe Dean who went to the Eagles in the third round. He was projected to go in the top 15 picks. Nakobe Dean is 5’11 and weighs 229 pounds. His pros include things such as his agility and quickness. His weaknesses are his average instincts.

This year’s draft was a great one and these players are working hard to become the best that they can be. The NFL is in great hands and these players will become stars one day.
